A good sign for local park (12/02/09)
A few short months ago, the entrance at Williams Park was overgrown with thick brush and weeds. Now, thanks to work by resident Louis Rankin and his crew, and a mammoth sign donated by Hinson Sign Company, the entrance looks much more inviting. Tuesday afternoon, Hinson Sign Company put up the new sign, bolted to a brick monument that honors Carter Roane "Sonny" Williams -- a civil rights leader and brick mason who died tragically, Aug. 28, 1970. Hinson Signs plans to paint the poles today...
