Snow day in Blytheville area (01/10/11)
Local, county and state police were busy Monday working numerous accidents on city, county and Interstate roads as the snow continues to fall.

Dustin Byrd, 19, of 1016 Rollison St., and Johnathon Short, 20, of Manila, were both arrested Sunday for being minors in possession of alcohol and for being in fraudulent possession of identification cards.
Sanders getting acclimated (01/10/11)
Blytheville Mayor James Sanders had an interesting first week in office. On Wednesday, he was shaking hands with Gov. Mike Beebe, who was in town to announce the expansion of Aviation Repair Technologies.

Mississippi County deputies may soon have new patrol cars to match their new uniforms, if a proposal by Sheriff Dale Cook gets approved by the quorum court.

What is it with Arkansas and birds? (01/10/11)
During my 10 years as a reporter for the Courier News, there were numerous stories about Arkansas that went national, and if Twitter or Facebook had been "born" back then would probably have gone viral as well. And almost all of those stories had something to do with birds.
