Since February of 1988, Fred Roberts has held every position available at the Gosnell Police Department, concluding with his term as Chief of Police, which began in 2007. Roberts, who retired from a long career in law enforcement as of March 1, had always wanted to be a police officer, even during his Air Force days, when he wanted to train for security police, but ended up in commanding control.
