Trial date set in Wamble case (10/18/11)
Chris Wamble, who is facing charges for filing a false police report, appeared at a chambers date in court Monday. A motions date for the case was set for Jan. 5, 2012, and a trial date of Jan. 17, 2012.
Chili Cookoff winners announced (10/18/11)
The results are in for the 2011 United Way of Greater Blytheville 31st Annual Championship Chili Cookoff.
Main Street marking "3rd Thursday" this week (10/18/11)
The second monthly "3rd Thursday" event, in downtown Blytheville, will be Thursday. This means participating businesses will not be closing until 7 p.m., as opposed to the usual 5 p.m. or earlier.
Arts Council to unleash Haunted Theater (10/18/11)
The Arts Council of Mississippi County is opening the doors at The Ritz Theater for its annual fundraising Halloween event "The Haunted Theater."
"Redneck Rendezvous" planned for Aeroplex (10/18/11)

Wilson wins Pigskin Payoff (10/18/11)
Carl Wilson of Blytheville won the weekly Blytheville Courier News Pigskin Payoff contest. Wilson and Colton Stice of Blytheville missed just two high school/college football games. However, Wilson edged Stice in the tiebreaker. He predicted 58 points in the Gosnell-Highland game, which produced 62. Stice predicted 57 points...
Record number of participants in local 5K (10/18/11)
The United Way Chili Cookoff 5K Run/Walk was held Saturday morning at the Blytheville Youth Sportsplex. A record 139 participants took part in the third annual event. The run/walk was sponsored by Tenaris, and official event timing was by Stearns Race Timing...
