Mississippi man accused of video voyeurism

Thursday, October 27, 2011

GOSNELL -- The Gosnell Police Department recently made an arrest in a case of video voyeurism.

On Tuesday, Oct. 25, the GPD was contacted by the victim, who lives in Gosnell. She told officers she had discovered evidence of having been videotaped by a hidden camera in her home, allegedly placed there by Sam Allen Nuckolls of Olive Branch, Miss., who was a houseguest of the victim and her husband.

The victim told officers that when she went to take a shower on that day, she noticed that Nuckolls had left several hygiene items laid neatly out in the bathroom, including an oversized pen. As she continued to get ready to shower, she discovered that the pen had a USB connection. She said she left the bathroom and Nuckolls immediately went into the bathroom, then to his room with the items he had in the bathroom, including the pen.

When Nuckolls left the residence, the victim went into his room, found the device, plugged it into her computer, and found that it was a video recorder, which had recorded her in the bathroom.

Nuckolls was taken to the Gosnell Police Department, read his Miranda Rights, and stated his understanding of them. He then gave a taped verbal and written statement admitting that he had set up the camera with the purpose to secretly record the victim. He also admitted that he had done this to two other women in Mississippi , and provided their names. Both of these women were contacted by police and told that they had been victims of a crime. Nuckolls' computer, pen camera, flash devices and other items were searched with his consent, and he was transported to the Mississippi County Jail, charged with video voyeurism. He was bonded to circuit court for $50,000.
