County sales tax collections dip in December, report says

Mississippi County saw a decrease in revenues from tax collections for the month of December, according to the office of the county treasurer's reports, released on the county's website, www.mcagov. com.

The half cent economic development tax collected $258,423.84 in December 2011, down from $306,250.58 in November 2011 and $274,773.43 in December of 2010.

A total of $3,270,413.64 was collected in this fund for the total year of 2011, a slight increase over the total amount collected in 2010.

The one percent sales tax revenues for December 2011 were down, at $103,313.16. This is a decrease from $122,446.67 in November 2011 and $111,906.13 in December 2010.

The sales and use tax revenues for the whole year of 2011 were $1,309,367.43, also a slight increase over 2010's total.
