"At approximately 3:30 p.m., officers of the Blytheville Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Holly Street in reference to a shooting," Blytheville Police Chief Ross Thompson wrote in a press release Thursday night. "On arrival, officers found 18-year-old Miguel Estrada of Blytheville had been shot. Estrada was transported to the Great River Medical Center Emergency Room in Blytheville where he later died of his injuries."

Two Blytheville juveniles, ages 16 and 15, were apprehended shortly after the incident, Thompson said. The 15-year-old male was released while the other remains in custody. Thompson added the juvenile in custody will be facing charges in connection with the shooting death of Estrada.

"Although the incident is still under investigation, this is not a random act of violence," Thompson said. "Estrada and the juveniles knew each other and appear to have a history of threats between them."
