In the UNO women's basketball team's only game of the week, Clay became the second player on the roster to net a double-double this season.
A former Blytheville Lady Chickasaw star, Clay scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in just 23 minutes of play in a contest at Lakefront Arena against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The native of Blytheville, Ark. topped 50 percent from the field for the fourth straight game, shooting 5 of 10 from the field.
The 10 rebounds established a career-high for Clay, who previously topped out at nine earlier in the campaign against Arkansas-Monticello. The 12 points represented the third contest in a row in which Clay reached double-figures and fifth time this season.
On the year, Clay is averaging 7.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest. The junior is shooting 41 of 76 for a 53.9 percent clip from the field.
The honor from College Sports Madness is the second on the season for a member of the Lady Privateers. Senior guard Mechel'le Thomas earned a similar nod on Dec. 3 from the site which identifies the highest impact players nationally and one from each conference in their weekly feature. College Sports Madness' coverage also includes a Top 25 ranking, tournament bracketology and team pages for each conference and school.
