The Mississippi County Quorum Court met briefly Tuesday night for its first meeting of 2013, in which a new ordinance and a new resolution were adopted.
The resolution approved the acceptance of the Moore Center from Arkansas Northeastern College.
Justice Fred Fleeman said plans are to host early voting in the center as well as store official election equipment. Fleeman said the building does need work but is confident grant money will be made available for repairs on the property.
The committee also adopted a new ordinance outlining the appropriation of $100,000 of economic development funds for D&L Incorporated, which will be used to expand the company and will create up to 10 jobs within the county over a four-year period.
Both the Planning and Development Committee and Finance Committee initiated the ordinance to allocate monies for D&L.
