Drugs, guns, cash confiscated in major drug bust

On Friday, DTF officers, in tandem with the Blytheville Police Department, Osceola Police Department and Mississippi County Sheriff's Department, executed search warrants on five separate residences in Blytheville -- three on West Rose Street, one on Hearn Street and one on Dogwood Street. The warrants were the result of an ongoing investigation of distribution of methamphetamine and high potency marijuana in the Blytheville area.

DTF seized 26 pounds of high quality marijuana, 1.9 pounds of methamphetamine, three AK-47 style assault riffles with 30 round magazines, one AR-15 with a 30 round magazine and 10 handguns, two of which also had 30-round magazines.

Eleven suspects were taken into custody during the drug raid -- Kenneth Brown Sr., 53; Jamie Brown, 47; Bobby Knight, 21; Kenneth Brown II, 26; Tremayne Brown, 25; Olivia Gonzales, 26; Shamajhai Evans, 23; Michael Harris, 23; Terence Spinks, 27; Charles Stallworth, 21; and Issac Black, 28, all of Blytheville. All suspects are in custody and are scheduled to appear in Blytheville Municipal Court today (Wednesday) for arraignment.

Mississippi County Sheriff Dale Cook said he is pleased with the hard work and dedication that resulted in such a large bust.

"This was the result of a three-month intensive investigation in Mississippi County," said Cook. "It's all been behind-the-scenes activity going on that culminated in these arrests made Friday night, and I'm very pleased with what's going on."

"This just goes to show that criminals are organized, and so are we," said Blytheville Police Chief Ross Thompson of the work done during this operation. "When we did put this team together, this is what we were hoping to do -- to make arrests of this size."
