Blytheville Police are investigating the murder of a man found lying face-up on Delmar Street Tuesday night.
According to Capt. Scott Adams, the BPD Criminal Investigations Division Commander, around 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, officers received a call of shots fired in the area and a body lying in the roadway.
He said when officers arrived, they found 51-year-old Ronnie Green face up on the roadway on Delmar Street, near the intersection of Davis Street.
Adams said Green was unresponsive and had several gunshot wounds.
Detectives processed the scene and examined the body. Green's body will be sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy and official cause of death.
"It is uncertain at this time of a motive for the shooting; however, a small amount of cocaine was discovered on the victim," Adams said. "If anyone had contact with the victim on this night or has information of the incident, they are urged to contact the Blytheville Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at 870-762-0400 or the hotline at 870-762-2677 (cops)."
